When a permanent tooth does not form the baby tooth is retained. In this case the baby tooth started to fail and had to be removed. An implant was chosen to add a tooth, fill the space and preserve the bone. This procedure required only local numbing and the patient did not experience any discomfort. Most patients only have to take Ibuprofen or Tylenol since post operative discomfort is minimal. In this case there were no sutures or bleeding.
