About Dental Exams@headingTag>
During an annual dental examination at Martin Dentistry (either our Indianapolis or Fishers office, a member of our team will capture digital X-rays and intraoral images to update the patient's records. General and cosmetic dentists, Drs. Martin, Martin, or Marshall will then conduct a thorough checkup and talk with the patient about their concerns, needs, and both short and long-term goals. Together, the patient and the dentist will review their diagnostic photos. For patients who are interested in replacing old dental work or correcting aesthetic flaws, the dentist can schedule a consultation to go over our cosmetic dental procedures. If any oral health concerns, like cavities or gum disease, are found during the dental exam, Drs. Martin, Martin, or Marshall will explain recommended restorative treatments and help the patient determine the best plan for the future of their smile.

"I had not seen a dentist in years and was having major pain. I called in the morning and they got me in the chair just a few hours later. The staff and Dr Stephanie could not have been nicer. They fixed my pain and made a patient for life. Oh yes...and they did not judge me for putting off dental care!!! Thank you Martin Dentistry!!!!"- K.F. / Yelp / Jul 11, 2016
"Going to the dentist has never been my favorite thing to do, but since I have been going to Martin Dentistry my opinion has changed. "The best dentist ever! Not only are they thorough and informative, but they also take care in making sure the visit is pain free. I have a bleeding disorder, and they took extra care to make sure it was an enjoyable visit. The location is very modern and clean, and the staff are always helpful and nice. If you're looking for a new dentist I highly suggest going in for a consultation. 10/10 would get my teeth cleaned again. "- D.H. / Google / Oct 13, 2015
What to Expect@headingTag>
The dental examination seeks to evaluate the overall health of the patient’s teeth, gums, bones, and jaw. During the examination, the dentist will look at the patient’s mouth as well and take X-rays to get a more in-depth understanding of their oral care needs. Through physical exams and X-rays, the dentist will be able to assess and diagnose any cavities, chips, disease, and decay in the mouth. Patients will also receive a teeth cleaning following their examination. The dentist will discuss any issues or concerns regarding their exam as well as offer recommendations for care options.
Dentists highly recommends that patients receive a dental examination and check-up at least once a year, in addition to cleanings being received every six months. This ensures optimal dental health for each patient.
